A Storybook Starring Your Child and Their Best Friend
Upload one photo of your child and one of the pet, tell us what the two of them get up to, and we write and illustrate an original 12-page adventure with both of them on the page. Dog, cat, rabbit, horse, whoever the best friend is.
Create Their Story: Free PreviewAsk a six-year-old who their best friend is and there is a fair chance the answer has four legs. The dog who waits at the window. The cat who sleeps on the homework. The rabbit with the strong opinions about carrots. Most personalized books can put a child's name on a page. Very few can put the actual animal beside them, with the right ears and the right markings, doing the things the two of them actually do.
A Delilah & Mia pet book starts with two photos: one clear shot of your child and one of the pet. Our AI illustrates both from those photos, so the dog on page nine is your dog, not a generic golden retriever, and your child looks like themselves the whole way through. Then you describe the story in your own words: the backyard they patrol together, the walk that always turns into an expedition, the cat who is secretly running the household. We write and illustrate it around the two of them.
Pets are a first-class character here, not an afterthought. Up to five characters can appear in a book, and the pet counts as one of them, so siblings, a parent, or a second pet can join the adventure too, each with their own photo.
Be clear about what this is, because it is why it works. It is a picture book: twelve illustrated pages, generous artwork, a story that takes about ten minutes to read out loud. That is exactly the right size for a child who wants to see their dog be a hero and then hear it again tomorrow. And when the pet is old, or gone, this is the book that stays on the shelf.

Why the Pet Makes the Book
A child's bond with a pet is the most uncomplicated love in the house, and it almost never gets recorded anywhere except the camera roll. A book that puts the two of them in an adventure together captures a friendship at the exact age it happens, and it is the one gift the child will insist on reading to the animal.
Nothing about the process is a gamble. Upload your child's photo and a free illustrated cover appears in about a minute, with no account and no card. Sign in with Google, add the pet's photo as a second character, describe the story, and the first two pages are illustrated free so you can see both of them on the page before spending anything. Three free redraws come with the preview, shared across the cover and those pages.
The pet is drawn from its photo

Describe the Story
Story Ideas That Work Well
There is no menu of plots. You describe the story you want in your own words and it gets written around that. These three angles work especially well when a pet shares the lead.
The Backyard Expedition
Take the yard, the park, or the walk they do every day and turn it into a quest. A hand-drawn treasure map, a missing tennis ball, a mystery only a dog's nose can solve. Familiar ground with something magical hidden in it is the version children ask to hear again.
What the Pet Does When Nobody Is Looking
Every family has a theory. The cat who runs a secret night shift, the dog who is clearly a retired detective, the rabbit with a hidden tunnel network. Let your child be the one who finally finds out.
The Day They Rescued Each Other
A storm, a lost collar, a thunderclap, a long night. The pet is scared and the child is brave, or the other way around, and by the last page they have got each other home. This is the one that gets read at bedtime for a year.

Good to Know
Getting This Right the First Time
Photograph the pet in daylight, whole body visible
The best pet photos are taken outside or by a window, from the front or side, with the whole animal in frame and nothing in its mouth. Distinctive markings should be visible: the white chest, the one floppy ear, the collar color. Dark indoor photos of a dark animal are the hardest to hold.
Name the pet and say what it is
Write the pet's name, breed or type, and anything that makes it recognizable into the story description: Max, a golden retriever with a white patch on his chest. Those details carry into the illustrations and the text.
Use the child's real routine with the pet
The morning walk, the fetch game that never ends, the cat that sits on the bath mat. Real routines make a story your child recognizes as theirs, and they are what makes the animal feel like the family's own instead of a generic pet.
Order the printed book about two weeks out
Printing takes 5 to 7 business days before shipping even starts. The digital version is ready to download within minutes, so if the birthday is close, give that first and let the printed copy arrive after.
Got Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the pet really be illustrated from a photo, or is it a stock animal?
From the photo. The pet is added as a character with its own photo, and the AI illustrates it from that, so the coloring and markings carry through the pages it appears on. Send a clear daylight photo of the whole animal for the best result.
What kinds of pets work?
Dogs and cats are the most common, but rabbits, horses, guinea pigs, birds, and lizards all work the same way. Anything you can photograph clearly can be a character.
How do I make a pet book?
Upload one clear photo of your child and a free illustrated cover appears in about a minute, with no account and no credit card. Then sign in with Google, add the pet as a second character with its own photo, describe the story you want, and the first two pages are illustrated free. You only pay once you have seen it.
Can siblings or a second pet be in it too?
Yes. Up to five characters can appear in the book and the pet counts as one, so there is room for siblings, a parent, or a second pet, each illustrated from their own photo.
What if the illustrations don't look like them?
You get three free redraws during the preview, shared across the cover and the two free pages, so you can steer it before spending anything. After you unlock the full story you get at least 15 more redraw credits, usable on any page or the cover.
How much does it cost and where do you ship?
The digital book is $14.99 and is ready to download. The softcover bundle is $39.00 and the hardcover bundle is $49.99, and both include the digital copy. Printed books ship to 50 countries. The digital edition works anywhere.
From our family to yours
We are a family business in Las Vegas, named after our daughters, Delilah and Mia. Pets ended up in our books because our own customers kept adding them, and it turned out the animal is often the page a child turns to first. A dog drawn as itself, ears and all, next to the child who loves it, is a small thing on paper and a large thing to a six-year-old. We print those with particular care.
