A Personalized Storybook Starring Grandma
One photo becomes an original illustrated story with your grandmother as the hero, and her grandchildren right there on the page with her.
Create Their Story — Free PreviewThere is a specific problem with buying for a grandmother. She has spent sixty or seventy years accumulating objects, she is often actively trying to have fewer of them, and she will tell you, sincerely, that she does not need anything. What she does want is harder to wrap: proof that the people she raised are still paying attention, and something that puts her in the same frame as the grandchildren she does not see often enough.
A Delilah & Mia book starts with one clear photo of her. The AI illustrates from that photo, so the grandmother in the artwork has her hair, her coloring, and her face across every page rather than only on the cover. Then you describe the story: what she is like, what she is known for, and who else belongs in it. Up to five characters can appear, each with their own photo, so the grandchildren are illustrated as themselves rather than as anonymous children.
That is usually the part that does the emotional work. Most families have almost no pictures of everyone together, and the ones they do have are phone snapshots from a crowded kitchen. A book where Grandma and four grandchildren cross a river or run a lighthouse together is not a photograph of something that happened. It is a picture of how the family actually feels about her, which is a rarer thing to own.
It is a picture book, and it should be. Twelve illustrated pages, read aloud in ten minutes, easy on the eyes and easy to hand to a small person who wants to see it again. If she has grandchildren who visit, it gets read to them, by her, about her. That is a very specific kind of afternoon, and it is the reason these end up on the shelf next to the photo albums rather than in the closet with the candles.

Why Grandmothers Keep This One
Ask a grandmother what she wants and the honest answer is usually time with people. You cannot mail that. What you can send is an object that carries the same information: that somebody thought carefully about who she is, wrote it down, and had it illustrated and bound. The specific details you include are what she will read twice.
The whole thing is low-commitment until you decide otherwise. Upload one photo and a free illustrated cover appears in about a minute, with no account and no card. Sign in with Google, describe the story, and the first two pages are illustrated free. Three free redraws come with the preview, shared across the cover and those pages, so you can adjust the look before spending a cent.
Her, on every page
The AI illustrates from her photo, so the likeness carries through the whole book rather than appearing once on the cover.
Grandchildren in the artwork
Up to five characters, each with their own photo, so the grandchildren are drawn as themselves and not as generic kids.
Free cover first
One photo gets you an illustrated cover to look at before you decide anything. No account, no card.
Something to read together
Twelve illustrated pages, sized for reading aloud with a grandchild on the arm of the chair.

How It Works
Describe Their Story
Write down what the story should be about: what they are known for, what they did, who else belongs in it.
Upload One Photo
One clear photo of them. Our AI illustrates from it, so the hero carries their real face on every page.
Choose Your Format
Digital by email in minutes, or a printed 32-page book. Extra personal pages can be switched on if you want them.
Describe the Story
Story Ideas That Work Well
You describe the story in your own words rather than picking from a list. Three angles that work well when the hero is a grandmother.
Grandma and the Grandkids
Put her and every grandchild in the same adventure. A lighthouse to keep lit, a train to catch, a garden that has gotten out of hand. The whole point is a page where the family is together and drawn as themselves.
The Story She Always Tells
Every grandmother has one: the storm, the dance, the crossing, the year everything changed. Write down her version and let it be illustrated as the adventure the family has always half-pictured while she told it.
Where She Came From
The town, the farm, the boat, the first street she lived on. A story set in her beginning gives grandchildren a picture of a person who existed long before they did, which is usually a revelation.

A Short Plan Before You Start
Ask her family for the photo, not her
Asking your grandmother directly for a good photo of herself gives away the surprise and often gets you a formal portrait from 1998. Ask a sibling or a parent to find a recent one where her face is well lit, facing forward, and not in sunglasses.
Collect the grandchildren's photos in one go
If you want the grandchildren in the book, gather one clear photo of each before you start, since each character can carry their own. A single group text saves you a stop-start evening.
Leave two weeks for a printed copy
Printed books take 5 to 7 business days to produce before shipping begins. If the date is tight, the digital version arrives by email within minutes and the printed one can follow.
Got Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my grandmother be the main character instead of a child?
Yes. An adult is a supported hero type, so the book is genuinely about her rather than a children's story with her name added. You pick the reading level at creation, and for an adult hero you would choose the oldest band.
Can her grandchildren be in the book with her?
Yes, and this is the version most people want. Up to five characters can appear in total, and each one can have their own photo so they are illustrated as themselves rather than as generic children.
How many photos do I need?
One clear photo of your grandmother is enough to start and to see the free cover. If you want other family members illustrated, you will want one clear, well-lit, front-facing photo of each of them too.
What if a page comes out wrong?
You get three free redraws during the preview, shared across the cover and the two free pages. Unlocking the full story adds at least 15 more redraw credits that you can spend on any page or the cover, so a page you do not like does not have to stay.
Is the printed book easy for her to read?
It is a picture book, so the type is large and every page is dominated by its illustration. The printed edition is 32 pages: the twelve story pages as full spreads, plus title pages and decorative endpapers. The hardcover is the sturdier of the two print options.
Can it ship straight to her?
Yes. Enter her address at checkout and the printed book goes directly to her. Printed books ship to the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. The digital edition can be emailed anywhere.
From our family to yours
We are a family business in Las Vegas, named after our daughters, Delilah and Mia. Watching their grandparents read to them is a large part of why this exists. What we did not anticipate was how many people would flip it around and make the grandparent the hero instead. The first time we printed one for somebody's grandmother, the note that came back said she read it to the grandchildren herself, out loud, twice. That is the whole business in one sentence.
